19/11/13 Today was day 2 of the space workshop. all groups began the day completing the work that was started yesterday. My group was given the task to create something from a starting point in a space that then grows. We had to use wire as a material and it had to be three-dimentional.
We discussed a few different ideas and our favourite idea was a tornado style sculpture, however we thought that it was too literal and easy as wires natural way is circular anyway. so we decided to make it square, we decided it would look good if it looked as if it was moving through the wall.
We had to change the design half way through, it was supposed to get larger as it got higher but it didn’t work. We couldn’t get the larger pieces wire to take shape or to settle well on the wall, so we decided to get it as large as possible and then to get smaller again. I think this worked well and the end results were interesting.
